First of all, I’d like to say a big “Thank you!” to everyone who’s already joined my project or shared the link. With your help, we’ve gotten a quarter of the way there in just six days. That’s a great start, but we’ll need to pick up the pace to hit the target on time!

With eight days left in the campaign, I thought I’d take the opportunity to share a few of the reasons I’m excited about Beacon. I’m not just going to write on Beacon; I’ve also joined as a subscriber, as I hope you will, and here’s why:

Independent
The writers on Beacon are independent journalists. They aren’t constrained by an editorial policy or world view, so you’ll get a multiplicity of voices on a wide range of topics.

Quality
Beacon’s writers have all been invited to join thanks to our proven record. It’s not just someone sharing their opinion; you’ll get access to investigative reporting and informed, insightful journalism by experts and reporters on the ground.

Personal
Beacon lets you connect directly with the writers. Not only does the bulk of the subscription fee go straight to the writers, but the discussion area gives subscribers a chance to ask questions, suggest topics and interact with the writers they’re funding.

Affordable
Supporting writers directly isn’t just satisfying; it’s also cheaper. Subscribing to a writer on Beacon gets you access to everything on the site for just $5/month.

Those are a few of the great things about Beacon which make it a promising alternative to traditional media outlets. I’m looking forward to being part of that future together with you. If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll join my project, and everybody can also help spread the word!

Thanks,
Sedeer
